シニア層向け大学開放に関する一考察

今日，大学定員確保などとも関連して，日本でもシニア／中高年層を主たる対象層とした大学開放事業が増えてきている。ここでは，欧米における第三期の大学の動向と，日本でのシニア層への大学開放の動向を整理したうえで，シニア層が一般学生と同じ授業を受ける事例とシニア向けの独自の授業を設ける事例の，２つの対比的なシニア向け大学開放の事例を検討した。統合型の事例（神戸山手大学）では，シニア学生は一般学生と協調的で，教員からの評価も比較的高かった。分離型の事例（園田学園女子大学）では，地域での学習や修了後に学習を発展させる契機があることが示された。両者ともの課題は，定員確保の段階をこえ，大学でのシニア学生受け入れの積極的意義を見出すことだと考えられる。Due partly to the problem of ensuring the university students' capacity, recently special entrance exams for senior （the third age） students are popular in Japan. Paying attention to the global trends of the University of the Third Age and also of the senior targeted entrance exams in Japan, two case studies were conducted with a sharp contrast of the admission policy of senior students; age integrated case （Kobe Yamate Univ.） and age segregated case （Sonoda Gakuen Women's Univ.）. The former presented a certain level of benefits of the integration, and the latter presented possibilities of the continued learning both for future and for the community. Tasks to be elaborated will be to figure out the positive message of accepting senior people into the university.
