The author tried a study, viewed mainly from the plan of sewerage, on the precipitations related to three cities-Nagano, Matsumoto and Ueda-having representative inland meteorology in Honshu, Japan. Though these cities are among the regions where the annual amount of rainfall is so little, it is observed that an intense precipitation of a short duration, an indispensable subject to be taken into consideration in making a design of municipal drainage work, of these three cities is not to be evaluated to be so small as in the case of the annual rainfall.
