山下（2003）では取り扱わなかった、実行機能とワーキングメモリーの関係について、対照的な立場をとる、Baddeleyの理論とBarkleyの理論を取りあげ論じた。また、Barkleyがその理論の基礎としたBronowskiの文明論と、わが国の異色の解剖学者である三木成夫の人間観との類似性を指摘し、それらを紹介するとともに若干の考察を加えた。This article describes the relationship of the concept of executive function and working memory using the two typical theories (Baddeley's three components model of working memory and Barkley's hybrid model of executive function). The auther suggested that there is a basic similarity between Barkley's theory about development and disorders of executive function, which is based on Bronowski's view of human civilization, and Miki's anatomical view of humankind.
