• This study examined the relation between mothers' time perspective and the viewpoint of three factors; child-care-anxiety, life course, and purpose of life. Eight hundred thirty-six mothers who have small children participated in a questionnaire survey. We classified life course and purpose of life into two groups: a life course which the mothers desired or not for the future and purpose of life which was child-care or not. The experiential time perspective scale has four factors; self-fullness, goal-directedness, acceptance of past and hopefulness. We examined the relation between the four factors of time perspective and the viewpoint of three factors. It was found that in mothers with low level of child-care-anxiety, whether the life courses were desired was related to self-fullness and goal-directedness and, that the three factors, except acceptance of past, were associated with purpose of life for mothers with high level of child-care-anxiety. For mothers with high level of child-care-anxiety, the results suggested that, how well child-care was integrated with their personality was related to their present and future.
