The purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationships between two habits (habit in daily life and habit about eating) and self-diagnosed health in children. Elementary school students were required to answer questions which comprised of 12 questions for habits in daily life, 7 questions for habits about eating and 15 questions for physical and mental health. Analysis based on quantification theory type I indicated that habits in daily life (ex."sleep" , "eating breakfast" , "watching TV" , "exercise" etc.) predicted 38-55% of physical health and 26-42% of mental health (irritation) scores for all graders. The above analysis also indicated that habits about eating (ex. "balance of nutrition" , "preference of taste" etc.) predicted 26-40% of physical health and 27-41% of mental health scores for all graders. These results were interpreted as showing that habits in daily life and habits about eating were important factors in physical and mental health in children.
