Human subjective responses to whole-body random vibration have been investigated. In the present study, the perception thresholds have been focused on for the assessment of vibration in residential environment. Experiments involving human subjects were conducted to measure perception thresholds of vibrations whose conditions were determined based on the characteristics of real vibrations expected in common single-family houses. The results of the experiments were used to develop an appropriate evaluation method of the perception thresholds of real vibrations.
