This study was intended to examine the relationship between physique and physical fitness of engineering-major students. The examinees were 100 students in 2004(age:19.0±1.2), 114 students in 2006(18.9±1.3), 100 students in 2007(19.0±1.3), and 30 students in 2008(19.3±0.8). The subjects were classified into four groups according to 50-percentiles of height and weight ;i.e.“short-and-light",“short-and-heavy",“tall-and-light", and“tall-and-heavy groups". Henceforth, a research was carried out in terms of physical fitness among those four groups. The contents of this research were height, weight, sit-up, trunk-flexion, side-step, 20-meter-shuttle-run, standing-long-jump, and grip-strength. The results were: 1 )Tall-and-heavy group marked significantly better average than short-and-light group in trunk-flexion. 2 )Short-and-heavy group made particularly higher score than short-and-light group in grip-strength. Tall-and-heavy group made clearly better score than any other groups in grip-strength.There was no significant difference in other researches(sit-up, side-step, 20-meter-shuttle-run, standing-long-jump).
