Situation of traffic safety in Saitama prefecture is very serious because the number of traffic accident fatalities in Saitama prefecture is 3rd-worst in Japan (2009). To improve this situation, workshop was held to discuss traffic safety measures in collaboration with local government, police department, road users and university students. Target areas were roadside areas of principal prefectural road "Kawaguchi - Ageo", namiki and nisshiaoki, Kawaguchi city.In the workshop of Kawaguchi, effective countermeasure was examined mainly in "Kenyo highschool" intersection where a lot of traffic accidents were recorded.
