Summary An Introduction to the Analysis of the General Historical Law of Social Development Hisatsugu MURAl The maoin purpose of this article is to analyze the logical structure of the general historical laws of social development (universal-geschichtliche EntwicklungsGesetz). The reason why I pay particular attention to the logical structure of these laws, is that not only the empirical contents but also the logical structure (or the mode of thought) of the laws, are nowadays criticized as prescientific, for example, by Karl Popper. The laws which I have analyzed in this article, are those of C6fnte and Marx. The reason is that, in spite of the opposite characters seen among their empirical contents, their logical structUre is, according to my interpretation, identical.
