An oral administration of carbenicillin indanyl sodium 2 g/day was made on 21 cases of urinary tract infections. Effects of the administration were as follows: 1) Clinical response was excellent in 6 cases, good in 7 cases, and poor in 8 cases. Twelve cases with indwelling catheter responded rather poorly. 2) Effectiveness against Pseudomonas was seen in 9 cases out of 12. 3) As side effects, diarrhea was observed in 2 cases and pyrexia in one case.
