In this paper the natural environment geology disasters of mountainous area highway are firstly elaborated, and such geological disasters and their origin as collapse, landslide, mud fluid, Karst,flood damage, special soil, earthquakes and so on is analyzed emphatically. At the same time, such environment geological disasters easily caused by people as roadbed of filling and cutting, constructing bridge and tunnel, changing water course, and so on, are elaborated in detail duringconstructing mountainous area highway. In view of the construction and operation of mountainous area highway faced by the natural and artificial environment geological disaster, it is proposed thatforecasting and preventing geological disaster and effectively developing environmental protection countermeasures.
