A sampling survey support system, Three-S System, that works on personal computers has been developed. As recent word processor softwares provide features to insert comments into a document file, a designer of questionnaire sheets can enter attributes of each question in a comment record when he prepares his sheets with such a word processor. This system extracts these comments from a document file and generates an attribute file to use it on the input phase of questionnaire data and calculation of some basic statistics for the resultant data file. The detailed syntax to define attributes of questionnaire have been described with some examples.
