1. Influence of testicular function on gonadotr o phic hormone of the anterior lobe of pituitary gland was studied in 7 cases of primary hypogonadism accompanied with excessive excretion of urinary gonadotrophine. In all the cases, s p ematogenesis was disappeared and Leydig interstitial cells were increased. Some of the Laydig cells were thought to be functionally inactive. 2. Pituitary-gonadal function was investigated using rats of gon a dal dysfunction, which were experimentally produced by administration of cadmium chloride. The study was performed ranging from 6 hours until 360 days administration. a) The seminiferous tubules were complet e ly destructed and no evidence of regeneration was noted. b ) Leydig interstitial cells regenerated interstitial tissue of the testis but secretory activity of androgen of the cells was not completely recovered. c) Pituitary gonadotrophine was increased after the 50th day following the administration but rate of increase was lower than that of the castrated rats. From the result of the above mentioned clinical and e x perimental studies, it was concluded that androgen which was secreted from the interstitial cells of the testis take a part regulatory mechanism of pituitary gonadotrophine secretion although seminiferous tubule elements including Sertoli cells play an important role regulation.
