The diverticulum of the bladder was discovered through the cystoscopic examination in two patients respectively, both of which had large diverticula. The first case was the fifty-six years old man with t h e chief complaint of pain on urination accompanied by the urethral obstruction due to benign prostatic hyperplasia. The diverticulectomy was done, and the capacity of this diverticulum was 600 ml., which was the largest vesical diverticulum reported in this country except of the case of 2,800 ml. reported by Imakita. The white spots were recognized in the mucosa of diverticulum, and the histological examination revealed leukoplakia. Leukoplakia in the vesical diverticulum is quite. rare and only four such cases have been reported up to date, and this case is the fifth one. The second case was fifty-five years old man with the chief complaint of urinary retention accompanied by the urinary obstruction due to sclerotic change of vesical sphincter muscles. The capacity of this diverticulum was 150 ml.. After the diverticulectomy, he had developed the symptome like as interstitial cystitis which rapidly disappeared after the administration of "Predonin" The following factors on diverticulum of the bladder have been discussed in this paper . etiology of this disease, age and sex of the patient, size of the diverticulum, complications of the lower urinary tract obstruction and the dverticulum itself.
