A core theoretical element of “rational” behavior is questioned, along with its propriety in new analytical fields such as behavior economics, economic psychology, etc. Our efforts show that it is worthwhile to understand the complexity of human actions and the role of emotional behaviors, to capture the various aspects of economic activities. Institutional economics is another field whose ideas have been adapted in other academic fields to explain various types of actions in markets and other social areas. This paper uses three major approaches to contribute to the understanding about actor’s behaviors: new institutional school, comparative institutional approach, and modern institutional school. Following this, we view the academic developments in cognitive science that have clarified human behavior mechanisms using the results of numerous scientific experiments. We then proceed to examine the propriety of action hypotheses in institutional approaches from theviewpoint of “strict” science. We conclude by drawing a new vision of actors in institutions and by suggesting a process to roughly theorize it.
