The continuing education arm of the University of Hong Kong is called the HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE). In 1956, the University of Hong Kong's Department of Extra Mural Studies was established. This study focuses on the history, programs, and management of HKU SPACE. It shows the distribution of the 1,027 programs by school and the 7 levels of the Qualification Framework. Finally, the study discusses the 3 aspects that should be considered when reviewing Japanese continuing education programs.
