• The purpose of this paper is to clear the view of university and student in the Taisho and early Showa period by focusing on a magazine Jitsugyo no Nihon. The article of the magazine treated with a lot of demands and issues about university reform, especially education, research, and student service in the terms of job hunting. Analyzing those discourse, this paper argued being the first signs of “University Management” in the Taisho and early Showa period.
