Powdery sample ofSri-Lankan graphite pre-oxidized in HzOz aq.soln. was heated at 1000°C under flow of 1atm Nz repeatedly, and measured volumetrically for its adsorption-desorption isotherms of Nz at -196°C aftereach heat treatment. It was found that, with increasing frequency ofsuch treatment, the adsorption isothermshifted downward, and the hysteresis between adsorption and desorption appeared smaller. Besides, the cycleof heating at 1000°C did not eradicate a ~ubtle step over the relative pressures from 0.3 to 0.4. These facts arediscussed briefly in terms ofporosity present on the graphite.
