There are many 'bei+V' sentences in the ancient-Japanese work Konjakumonogatarisyu. They can be separated into three sections. The first is the respectful form; the second is the passive form; and the third is the possible form. The respectful form can be separated into two expressions: the regular and the esteem of the writer (speaker). The passive form can be separated into three models: A model of '…に…bei+V', B model of '…の為に…bei+V', and C model of '…bei+V'. A model and C model express the profit, non-profit and neutral passive meanings, but B model can only express the non-profit passive meaning. The possible form is quite different from the formal. This paper points out that both the respectful form and the possible form are the special expressions in the ancient Japanese, and the B model of the passive form is quite different from Chinese passive sentences with bei.
