For a practical engineer's education, the project-oriented, hands-on learning method which makes manufacturing a problem is very effective. By taking this route, the student can integrate the knowledge and the technique learned individually. Moreover in the process of manufacturing, analysis capability and creativity are also developed. This paper reports the development subject practiced in this way. This equipment is composed of the following three parts. The first part is a scraper unit where the end the blade is installed in the four bar-linkages and moves elliptically. The second is image processing equipment with a CCD camera that recognizes the black bearing and then computes a scraping position. The third is an X-Y table controlled by computer, which moves the work piece into the menufacturing position.
