There must be a strong relation between our way of thinking and the environment under which we have been creating our culture. A way of thinking can be reflected in some cases on the language which we use. Professor Makino compares Japanese with English in his book entitled Language and Space and shows us a deep relation between the word order of both languages and how to understand the space around two peoples. The same topic is discussed here and present paper makes it clear whether the same thing can be said of Bengali in comparison with Japanese or not. This paper is composed of three sections. The first section deals with some opinions on word order. In the second section several characteristics of word order in both Japanese and Bengali. The third section shows the present writer's hypothetical opinion on a general relation between a way of thinking and an environment in which a language is spoken.
