The purpose of this paper is to clarify the Trisha Brown's intentions of choreography through the creative process of the theater piece Set and Reset.First of all, four parts of Brown's creative process are ascertained: choreographing a base movement phrase; teaching movement phrase and giving instructions to dancers; working together with dancers to develop the movement phrase further, and to find new movements vocabulary; stepping out of the dance to view the work as it evolved, to make editorial decisions.Secondly, her intention of choreography is clarified: to find the new movement vocabulary that it couldn't be created by her intention or imagine; to make the work easier for audiences to relate to.It is concluded that her intentions in the creative process of Set and Reset is to find new movements, which are aleatoric produced by dancers’ instinct, for the vocabulary in her work. This intention had not changed from Early Works. The other her intention is to tell a large audience about her work as entertainment. In Early works, she dealt with challenge and stimulation, not entertainment.
