In this study, author clarified the characteristics of company welfare during the early years of the postwar period by analyzing the collective agreement and considering the change of company welfare during the early years of the postwar period. In the prewar period, the labor relationship system was paternalistic in Japan. However, after the war, workers had become more concerned about the important of their rights. Thus, they began to ask the company to ensure their life security. As a result, companies started to change their corporate sense. Then, the workers began to realize that they, as a part of the company, could work and develop their own company. From the above reason, the company had changed its perspective to “public institution” which concerns more society welfare, and then workers were able to receive life security from the company. In this paper, author will analyze the different of social welfare in each labor system.
