It is well-known that the problem of the title to the Ryukyu Islands had surfaced as one of the focus of the international concern in East Asia until 1880's since 1870's, and this problem had become an important diplomatic issue between Japan and China on the day.Exactly at the same period, a lot of modern newspaper and magazine for chinese readers was launched in China. These newspapers and magazines come to accomplish the role as the medium by which the chinese nationalism was formed facing the foreign tension such as the problem of the title to Ryukyu Islands.Some sheets of newspapers and magazines to represent chinese journalism at the time are as follows; the Shenbao (申報) , the Wanguo Gongbao (万国公報) , Yiwenlu (益聞録) in Shanghai and the Xunhuan Ribao (循環日報) in Hongkong.In this text, the articls and the editorials printed to the above-mentioned four sheets of newspapers and magazines concerning the problem of the title to Rvukvu Islands are collected in order of the date.
