The conventional algorithms in the echo canceling system for hand-free set mobile radio telephone have drawback when they are faced with double-talk conditions. This condition could mislead the effective algorithm in finding the echo path replica. In this paper, we have defined a new algorithm for tap adaptations in the echo canceler based on correlation function (CLMS), where the near-end signal is existing. In this approach, the gradient search algorithm is obtained from the correlation function of the input signal. That is, the tap adaptation process is performed in a newly defined correlation path, and then copied into the echo path replica digital filter The computer simulation shows the robustness of the proposed algorithm in the presence of double-talk signal.
