• Through the real-model simulations, the polarizationdependentconfinement losses in actual holey fibers are, for the firsttime, numerically demonstrated. Furthermore, it is confirmed thatthe interstitial holes caused by the packing of the capillaries play arole to significantly reduce the confinement losses.
