This paper is concerned with the presentation of a numerical sheme for direct calculation of the velocity and pressure in two-dimensional flowfields using finite element method (FEM). The calculation starts with solving the equations without the convention terms, and the real viscous flowfield is simulated from the equations with the convection terms based on the above non-convective solution. As a result, the present FEM sheme is found to be of great advantage to numerical simulation of the flowfield around an arbitrary body placed in a viscous stream.
