A new type of single flux quantum logic gate isproposed, which can perform unilateral propagation ofsignal without using three-phase clock. This gate isdesigned to be built with bridge-type Josephson junctions.A basic logic gate consists of two one-junctioninterferometers coupled by superconducting interconnectinglines, and the logical states are representedby zero or one quantized fluxoid in one of one-junctioninterferometers. The bias current of the unequal magnitudeto each of the two one-junction interferometersresults in unilateral signal flow. By adjusting designparameters such as the ratio of the critical current ofJosephson junctions and the inductances, circuits withthe noise immunity of greater than 50% with respect tothe bias current have been designed. Three cascadedgates were modeled and simulated on a computer, and theunilateral signal flow was confirmed. The simulationalso shows that a switching delay about 2 picosecondsis feasible.
