In 1949 Imamura Tromometer, Type 14, (NS and EW) and in 1953 Ishimoto Accelerographs (NS, EW and UD) were installed in the campus of Taikyu High School, at Yuasa, Wakayama Prefecture and the observation has been continuously performed to date (cf. Fig. 1 and 2). Seismological interpretations have been published in the yearly report of the Geo-science Group of the High School named "Taikyu Chigaku" and also stored as Remington-Rand punched cards (cf. Fig. 3) in the Earthquake Research Institute.
