"An example of the task-based PBL(Problem Based Learning) method has been applied to civil engineering education in Kisarazu national college of technology. The PBL is an educational method that enables students to learn and practice problem-solving skills through the self-directed learning process. The method is consisted of three kinds of educational approaches; these are the small group learning(SGL), the self-directed learning(SDL) and the problem based learning(PBL). Therefore, teacher has to set an attractive theme(or task) that students have motivation for learning problem-solving skills. This paper describes the approach of our task setting in reference to the PBL concepts. Our examples during several years show the possibility and future issues of the PBL method for civil engineering education in the college of technology."
