This study asserts that "SOSAKUTEKI YOMIKATA" in Kisaburo Akita is shaped by the thought of Nishida's philosophy and psychoanalysis received through Hakuson Kuriyagawa. We confirmed how Akita's thought has changed through this study. Moreover, this study clearly demonstrates that the thought of Akita is inseparable in the historical context. Akita was affected by the thought of Fiedler, a scholar in the arts, through Nishida's writing, and he conceived his original "SOSAKUTEKI YOMIKATA." Introducing Nishida's philosophy, Akita began to think that readers updated their world knowledge when they pursued the author's "SO." Thereafter, Akita further developed "SOSAKUTEKI YOMIKATA," as he thought that reading a text is similar to psychoanalysis. It is based on the influence of Eiji Makiyama, his boss at that time, and Hakuson Kuriyagawa, a literary critic, that he introduced psychoanalysis into "SOSAKUTEKI YOMIKATA." For example, Kuriyagawa thought that preconsciousness and the unconscious being troubled produces literature. Akita obtained useful suggestions from these theories, and he thought that the reader's self-extension occurred because of reading the author's conflict.
