A notebook is an essential tool for students. They never study without notebooks. Instructors, however, are said to pay less attention to notebooks. It is also said that only a few students know how to make an effective notebook as they had little chance of taking notes before they got to high school. This, sometimes, leads to confusion with their English study. All these have inspired me. to (1) examine how notebooks are used by Setsuryo students, (2) sum up several problems found in their note-taking, (3) give advice to help them in improving their note-taking, by developing a new, unique notebook and making the students try it practically.
