Thermal design of contemporary high pressure turbine nozzle guide vanes clearly represents a difficult engineering task in the design of any modern aircraft gas turbine. Results on performance of a High-order-LES turbulence model in predicting the transitional heat transfer characteristics over turbine vane surface under high pressure turbine flow conditions are presented. The model is assessed to experimental measurement of heat transfer characteristics for the case of two types of turbine vane cascades in moderate temperature. The result of comparison between the measured and computed data revealed that the present model could predict the transitional heat transfer phenomena very satisfactorily.
