It has been generally known that ultrasound (US) irradiation to water causes hydroxyl (OH) radical generation. Moreover, the irradiation of dual ultrasound with different frequency has been reported to enhance OH radical generation ("dual-US method"). On the other hand, our previous study revealed that existence of TiO_2 particles could enhance the OH radical generation ("TiO_2/US method"). Therefore, in the present study, dual ultrasound of 1 MHz and 0.5 MHz was simultaneously irradiated to the solution in the presence of TiO_2 particles in order to attain further generation of OH radical ("TiO_2/dual-US method"). We explored the optimum combination of output intensities of 1 MHz and 0.5 MHz US, which maximize the OH radical generation in the presence of TiO_2 particles. Combination of output intensities of 0.4 W/cm^2 for 1 MHz and 10 W for 0.5 MHz in the presence of TiO_2 was optimum for OH radical generation and temperature increase under the examined condition. Moreover, we also examined the temperature increase and the bacterial cell damage by "TiO_2/dual-US method" under the optimum condition.
