The present study is a brief critical review of the author's own research studies for fifty years. His main research emphases have been primarily placed on various aspects of human relations. The article consists of the following topics in which he has been deeply involved: 1) preface 2) twin studies particularly on their interdependent relationships 3) experimental studies on cooperation and competition, and participation in some aspects of social behavior of young children 4) deepening interests in related areas of social and developmental psychology during doctoral studies in Illinois 5) studies on parent-child relations in connection with cognitive consistency theory 6) test of the mechanism of perception on interpersonal attitudes 7) moral development related to reference persons and reference groups 8) professional activities as a professor of social psychology at the University of Tokyo 9) participation in cross cultural studies and interdisciplinary studies 10) assessment of doctor-patient relationships 11) social psychological foundations of moral development, standardization of a moral assessment test and studies based on HEART constructed by the author 12) construction of a comprehensive test of human values 13) social psychology of attraction and love 14) an approach to educational problems from a social psychological view 15) implications of social psychology on human relations in the field of psychology 16) concluding remarks
