Social interactive games were introduced at an elementary school to support children that refused to attend school. The games were useful for developing human relationships, forming the classes into groups, as well as for reducing the number of children who refused to attend school. The reasons for the effectiveness of the games were investigated. The results indicated that human relationships and the quality of classes as groups improved as a result of the games because of the following factors, which complemented each other:(1)accurate assessment of the class as a group,(2)basic class activities,(3)direct support and guidance for problems, and(4)direct changes in characteristics of the class as a group. As a result, children's motivation to attend school increased and consequently, the number of children refusing school decreased.
