We have examined productions of lithium tellurite (Li_2TeO_3, LTO) by mechano-chemistry effect. Lithium compounds such as LiOH・H_2O, anhydrate LiOH, LiCl・H_2O and LiBr・H_2O were mixed with TeO_2 at the molar ratio of 2:1 by an automatic mortar grinding system. The mixtures were estimated by TG-DTA and XRD. As a result, it was clarified that LTO was produced by mixing only LiOH・H_2O with TeO_2 and hydrated water in LiOH・H_2O was an important factor. Then, the amount of LTO productions according to the increasing amount of hydrated water was studied by using mixtures of LiOH・H_2O and anhydrate LiOH as a lithium compound. It was found that the yield of LTO was increased as the amount of LiOH・H_2O increased, and clarified that the production of LTO was affected by hydrated water in this experiment system.
