At planning of liver transplantation, classification of liver segments can be helpful for surgeons. We propose a method to classify the liver into eight segments. The portal and hepatic veins were extracted. Liver is segmented based on blood vessel information. Analyses of the portal and hepatic veins are performed to identify each of them. Portal and hepatic veins and the inferior vena cava are used to construct separation planes of the eight segments.
