The goals of this paper are understanding the past results and problems based on the discussions "examination of roles and the approaches about student counseling" and suggesting our approaches for 2012. Although the number of consultations slightly increased between 2010 and 2011, the contents were not different from the past. Their issues were often focused on personal relationships and their own problems. We discussed how to support students who are absent from school for a long term due to these problems. Since these students already showed their maladaptive behaviors when they were freshmen, it would be helpful to have a questionnaire on their adaptation risk assessment right after the school entrance. These approaches would prevent students from having maladaptive problems.
