We have developed a graphics processing unit (GPU)-based two-way time transfer modem for a quasi-zenith satellite (QZS) narrow-band bent pipe system, and have been performing time transfer experiments between the Koganei (Tokyo) and Okinawa stations in Japan. For this experiment, we adopted a new timing signal, which will be used in the next-generation global navigation satellite system (GNSS). The time transfer results with the new signals show the advantage of short-term time transfer stability compared with the conventional two-way satellite time transfer method and GPS carrier phase time transfer method.
