保育者養成に応じたピアノ指導について

The author surveyed students,who had graduated Shin-ai women's College in March 2011,regarding their piano class. In answering the question,"Did you have any problems with the piano class?", 40% students said that they felt nervous and burdened in the class. Musical activities are requisite for children's emotional growth and development in kindergartens and child care centers. These activities include singing,moving body with music(rhythmic),and playing musical instruments. Along with these ctivities, teachers are required to use the piano or keyboard,thus they should be able to play the piano.Based on the survey results,this study aims to clarify the source of students' burden and to search ways to lessen the burden. According to the survey,many students answered that they felt burdened because they could not read music. They also answered that they were not accustomed with playing the piano. In order to solve these problems,this study proposes the following three preparations before students start practicing the piano: (1) Present model performances frequently so that the students get used to the music, (2) Give instructions for reading musical scores,and (3) Show in detail,using photographs,fingers (forms),wrists (height),and overall hand movements.
