This report is a survey about the sources of the sentences called “OTOKOTOONNA” whichAkiko Yosano put on “ZAKKICHOU”. Until now, it has been assumed that the period of writing and the magazine of it's first appearance were unknown. The book called this “ZAKKICHOU” was published in May, 1915. The author herself stated that she entrusted the intention of publishing this book to the poetry in the first page, and then placed thesesentences after it.The motif of the poetry is the strong impression she had in Europe. Therefore the researchers take these sentences as an opinion based on her living-in-Europe experience and estimate that the writing time was after returning home. However, it was found by chance that these sentences were first published in a magazine called “FUJIN NO KAGAMI” in December, 1911 with the title “DANJO NO BETSUNAKI SHOURAI”, and that her opinion about how men and women should be had been uniquely put together before visiting Europe. Therefore, I ordered the tables of contents of all past issues from thismagazine and the copies ofarticles written by Yosano Akiko to examine more closely. My statement below is therefore based only on the documents which Akiko Yosano, the subject of my research, wrote herself. Please let me be informed if there is a relevant study in bibliography or other genre.
