The form of the transhumance of Yak, cattle and their hybrids, practised by the Tibetans in the Langtang Valley, Nepal Himalaya, is described in reltion to the natural background: landforms, vegetation, and the vertical zonation of the Valley. The transhumance is carried out by six groups called "tshoba", each of which follows a different route to stay in a different grazing grassland at the same time. This form of transhumance, named the circulation system, is suggested to be most effective in using the limited space in the Langtang Valley.
