Objective: The objective of this study was to examine the effects of bone mass and strength of jump-training rats divided into a group that performs all loading at one time and training groups separated into different sets. Method: Forty female Wistar rats, aged 9 weeks were used. They were randomly assigned to a control group (Con) and three training groups (T) (n=10 in each group). Three training groups performed a total of fifty jumps per day divided into different sets. One group was assigned to 5 sets of 10 jumps/set (T10), a second group to 2 sets of 25 jumps/set (T25), and a third group to 1 set of 50 jumps/set (T50). The interval between sets was two hours. They had jump training 3 times a week and continued the training for four weeks. Results: The maximum breaking force in the bone fracture test in T10 and T25 was significantly higher than in Con. In addition, in comparison within the training groups, T10 demonstrated significantly higher effects than T50. Statistically, the tibial bone mineral content (BMC), bone mineral density (BMD) and fat-free dry weight (FFDW) in all training groups were significantly higher than in the control group. However, no significant differences among the training groups were found. Conclusion: Bone strength in the group of rats with jump training divided into five sets was increased more effectively than in the group that performs all loading at one time. The training program to enhance bone formation suggested that training with more than two daily training sessions separated into different sets is more efficient.
