Generation of vortex oscillation appearing in bluff body like as bridge structures relates to the behavior of separated shear layer. Control of shear layer may reduce the amplitude of oscillation. In the paper sound is applied at the leading edges of a rectangular cylinder and additional small body is installed near the leading edge of a bridge girder model. The test result showed the both methods could reduce the vortex oscillation. Flow visualization test showed that sound as well as additional small body affected to the separated shear layer and reduced the excitation force.
