A morphological instability of the solid-liquid interface during a crystal growth from an undercooled thin liquid flowing down an inclined plane is investigated. A ripply pattern with a characteristic wavelength about 1cm is obtained from a linear stability analysis of the solid-liquid interface. It is found that the cause for destabilization or stabilization of the solid-liquid interface is related with the distribution of latent heat flux released from it.
