We have proposed a system called SpectrumMap to visualize spectrum utilizations in order to provide a fundamental support for CR (Cognitive Radio). SpectrumMap marks each tiled region of VirtualEarth as a white space or not, based on all the data captured by all the measurement points in that region. Because of the zooming function of the SpectrumMap, the data nodes in a tiled region on the terminal screen are changing. This makes it difficult to color that region in a real-time manner. Applying hard fusion rule used in cooperative sensing to this problem, this paper shows that it is possible to remarkably reduce the computational cost at the SpectrumMap server as well as the amount of data transferred between the SpectrumMap server and the database of the captured spectrum data, and thus shows that faster displaying is possible.
