The gas change is carried out with interface between supplied and purged gases when a much difference of specific weight exists between them and the gas is supplied slowly like the gas change on the liquefied gas carrier. At this case, the both of gas diffusion by molecule motion and gas mixing by the jet flow of the supplied gas exist in the boundary layer. In this paper, the equations of gas concentration in tank as the time proceeds for gas change with a difference of specific weight are shown which are established by carring out the model tests in a one-fiftieth model tank of 130,000m^3 LNG carrier. And at the model tests, hot/cold liquids with different density were chosen for the test fluids instead of gases in order to minimize the sampling effect. And then, the gas concentration in an actual tank as the time proceeds was estimated using the similarity between gas diffusion and heat transfer, which was confirmed by the good agreements between the calculated values of gas concentration and the measured values in 80,000m^3 LPG carrier.
