This thesis sets forth a hypothetical proposal regarding apolia in relation to the formation of consciousness and the mind, an issue that numerous scientists and philosophers have struggled with. A presupposition to such an investigation may be the premise that the structure and function of the neural circuits in the brain form a complex system. In said system, when individuals have various sensory perceptions, these may be simultaneously divided into two parts, viz., the I-system and the World-system. Furthermore, these two subsystems unite to form the mind, which is also composed of consciousness and unconsciousness. There is a hypothesis that the forming of the conscious mind is based upon the reflexivity of the neurosystems in the brain, and it is assumed there is a process of the unconscious mind which, when heavily influenced by the emotional systems, produces consciousness with qualitative elements. The result is that the activities of the mind are being accomplished almost unconsciously, with only a small fraction of the totality being consciously grasped. The conscious self then subsequently appears within this consciously grasped element, with the conscious self then being able to produce a unique inner world. As a result of above considerations, a major question inherently arises, namely, What is the manner of the individual self's existence?
