Description of Conilepia nigricosta LEECH. The species was described from a male only by LEECH (Proc. Zool. Soc. Lond., 1888, p. 598, pi. 30, f. 11). In the hind wing Rs, M_1 stalked in female, coincident in male. The female closely resembles the female of Lithosia quadra LINN., but differing in the fore wing with M2 absent. ♀. Head, patagia, tegula and thorax orange-yellow; palpi orange-yellow, fuscous toward tip; antennae metallic blue; abdomen orange-yellow, greyish dorsally, the extremity orangish yellow; legs metallic blue, coxa, trochanter and basal half of femur orange-yellow. Fore wing orange-yellow with metallic blue spots on costa just beyond middle and on Cu_2 at middle; apex of cilia metallic blue. Hind wing and under side of wing pale orange-yellow. Ovipositor normal. Signa on thorn like. Exp. 34-42mm. E. June-July and Sep. in Kinki (Central Japan) ♂. Frons metallic blue. Fore wing clothed with powdery white scales; the costa metallic blue; the base, inner margin and outer marginal area orange-yellow. Uncus with a keel, articulated. Costa with inword projection near the base. Sacculus bluntly pointed. Saccus produced pointed. Aedoeagus large. Cornuti a large and very numerous smaller stumpy thorns. Exp. 32-37mm.
